Heath Place at Carnton
where history and community meet
Heath Place at Carnton is a neighborhood established in the early 1980s about a mile from Downtown Franklin, Tennessee. Over 150 homes make up the Heath Place HOA and we are a community with folks from all walks of life. Our neighborhood is adjacent to the Eastern Flank Battlefield Park and Historic Carnton Plantation. In the early 1800s, the entire area was owned and farmed by the McGavocks. Carrie McGavock is also known as the central figure in the best-selling book, The Widow of the South, by Robert Hicks. John and Carrie McGavock later went on to designate two acres of land to the fallen Confederate Soldiers of the Battle of Franklin.
The neighborhood was built around the original lane that takes locals, visitors, and civil war enthusiasts to the Plantation, the Battlefield Park, the Confederate Cemetery, and the McGavock family plot. Carnton Lane is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful streets in all of Franklin.
Our neighborhood is surrounded with history. We invite you to browse our website to learn a little more about us and the times gone by that make our town and neighborhood so unique.
